Napoleon Hill: week 2

Learn How to Live Your Own Life

We are on chapter two of Napoleon Hill’s book “A year of Growing RICH, 52 Steps to Achieving Life’s Rewards”.  I really like chapter two.  It is all about how you and I have the ability to choose for ourselves.  We have that power of thought, and no one can take it away from us.  This power of thought gives us the opportunity to be multimillionaires or to live pay-check to pay-check.  Here are some of the best parts of the book.

Favorite Quotes

“The Creator fave us the complete, unchallengeable right of prerogative over one thing, and only one thing– our own mind.”

“A genius is simply one who has taken full possession of his own mind and directed it toward objectives of his own choosing, without premitting outside influences to discourage or mislead him.”

“…They simply refuse to become one of the vast majority who do little more than eke out a living and experience mostly misery, disappointement and failure.”

“…I watched him change from a a person lost in a sea of despair into a possibility thinker.”

“When the ties that bind a human mind are broken and a man is introduced to himself–the real self that has no limitations–I fancy that the gates of hell shake with fear and the bells of heaven ring with joy!”

The Challenge

Let today be a day that we all direct our own thoughts, choose our own future and be our own selves.

Creative Domain Builder

Well, I have been working like crazy for the last week to maintain my job, and at the same time build a tool that I think that many of you will find useful. But I am unfortunately behind on a major deadline with the job, so even though the tool is just hours from being done, we will have to wait a little bit longer. But just so that you are looking forward to it, let me tell you about it.

Combine Words to Form a Domain

I have built a tool that allows you to select a bunch of words (from dictionaries or from your own sources) and combine them together into any combination, and then check to see if it is available as a domain name.

Examples

So, for example, let’s say that you are building a site about skydiving. You can enter “skydiving”, “fun”, “forever” and we will combine them all into each combination and then check to see if they are available…

  • skydivingfunforever.com
  • skydivingforeverfun.com
  • funskydivingforever.com
  • funforeverskydiving.com
  • foreverskydivingfun.com
  • foreverfunskydiving.com

Then we also have the ability to try pieces of each of these (or fragments as we call them) like

  • skydivingfun.com
  • funskydiving.com
  • foreverskydiving.com

Please leave a comment if this tool sounds useful to you.  I should be done with my late project soon and will be able to release this as beta on this site.

Napoleon Hill: week 1

I am reading Napoleon Hill’s  “A Year of Growing RICH, 52 Steps to Achieving Life’s Rewards”.  I have decided that as I read this book, I will post the things that impress me from each chapter.  So here we are, chapter 1, some really great stuff here.

“The person who acts with purpose and a plan attracts opportunities.  How can life give you anything if you don’t know what you want yourself?  How can others help you to succeed if you haven’t decided how to get there yourself?  Only with definiteness of purpose will you be able to overcome the defeats and adversities that will stand in your way”.

“He, like many others since, built his own  success by helping others achieve theirs.”

“If you want to achieve success, make today the day you stop drifting.  Decide upon a definite goal.  Write it down.  Commit it to memory.  Decide exactly how you plan to achieve it.  Then begin by putting the plan into action immediately.”

“Your future is what you make it.  Decide now what it shall be”.
