Where Have I Been?
I recently read Atlas Shrugged and the shortwave communications mentioned by John Galt reminded me how much I love radio. I got my HAM radio license 5 years ago and was very active for the first couple years until I moved. After moving I sort of let things drop and I never set my station back up. I still carry around my Kenwood handheld radio, but I rarely talk on it. I have decided to get back into radio and so here we go.
What Radios Do I Have?
I have my HT (handi-talkie) which is a Kenwood TH-F6.
I have a Uniden BC246T (Trunk Tracking) scanner
I have my mobile radio the Yaesu FT-7800R for my car
Finally I have the Yaesu 857D for my base station. I just got a deep-cycle marine battery to power this. I also hooked up all my feedline to my antennas so now I am live! YAY! I will do a post on my experience setting this up.
